Ararat Chapter was established in Sydney in 1980 by a team of dedicated Australians of Armenian descent. In 1988 it joined the Homenetmen family.

Ararat Basketball caters for all ages, male and female athletes, with athletes starting as young as 5 years old through to adults.

Ararat creates the best family atmosphere for the physical and intellectual growth of its players, through a well-organized and quality youth basketball program which emphasizes fun, lifelong friendships, skill development, and confidence building.

Ararat Basketball joined NSBA in 1990 with only 1 team. Today, Ararat averages over 14 teams representing the club across junior and senior teams.

The continual investment in our junior program has seen several junior players make the competitive Norths Representative teams.

Today, Ararat Basketball has over 200 athletes and growing every week. The club prides itself on being an inclusive, professional club with an amazing Basketball program that runs with the help of professional and volunteer coaches.

Each year, Ararat hosts its annual Gala Day, where external teams are invited to participate. The event attracts over 700 athletes and spectators.

Ararat Basketball is headed by Todd Karamian. Todd himself is a qualified coach and has spent many years on the board. He has a very successful track record in managing the not for profit community group. Todd is supported by experienced, talented, and selfless Talin Danielian and Arlette Kouchakdjian.
