Last updated: 12 March 2026

Nairi Ararat is committed to acting honestly, ethically and with integrity in all of its activities. We do not tolerate bribery, corruption, fraud, secret commissions, improper payments or other dishonest conduct.

This Policy applies to our committee members, office bearers, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives and any other person acting on behalf of Nairi Ararat.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Policy is to:

  • promote a culture of integrity and accountability

  • prevent bribery, corruption and improper conduct

  • support lawful, fair and transparent decision-making

  • protect the reputation of Nairi Ararat and the community we serve.

2. Prohibited conduct

No person covered by this Policy may:

  • offer, give, request or accept a bribe, kickback or secret commission

  • falsify records, invoices, reimbursements or expense claims

  • engage in fraudulent, deceptive or dishonest conduct

  • provide gifts, hospitality or benefits intended to improperly influence a person

  • use a third party to do something that would be prohibited if done directly.

This applies whether dealing with community members, suppliers, sponsors, donors, public officials, partner organisations or any other third party.

3. Gifts, hospitality and benefits

Reasonable, modest and infrequent gifts or hospitality may be acceptable where they are lawful, transparent and not intended to influence a decision improperly.

Gifts, hospitality or benefits must not be accepted or offered where they:

  • create a real or perceived conflict of interest

  • are excessive, inappropriate or not in keeping with community expectations

  • are intended to secure an improper advantage

  • could embarrass Nairi Ararat if disclosed publicly

  • are in cash or cash equivalents.

Where there is doubt, the matter should be disclosed and approved in advance by an appropriate committee representative or authorised decision-maker.

4. Conflicts of interest

All persons covered by this Policy must avoid conflicts between personal interests and the interests of Nairi Ararat.

Any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest must be disclosed promptly. A person with a conflict may be required to abstain from discussions, recommendations or decisions.

Accurate records must be kept for payments, reimbursements, purchasing, fundraising and financial decisions.

6. Third parties

We expect suppliers, sponsors, contractors, consultants and partners to act lawfully and ethically when dealing with Nairi Ararat.

We may refuse to engage with, or may cease dealing with, any person or entity suspected of bribery, corruption, fraud or other serious misconduct.
